Cpk Calculator;Cpk Calculation 1.2
An Alternative to Minitab™; Cpk CalculationMade Easy, this Lean/Six Sigma app allows you to calculate:- Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk, PPM Defects & Confidence Interval- Fully exportable data and HistogramThis app allows you to calculate process capability (Cpk) on themanufacturing shop floor ( Gemba ). No longer do you need toscribble down manufacturing data on a note pad, then go back toyour continuous improvement office to input data into an expensivesubscription based software such as Minitab ™.Why buy this App? The creation of this app has been a long andwinding road. It all started when two Lean, Six Sigma, ContinuousImprovement professionals found that they had used to same data tocalculate process capability index, but ended up with differentresults. This led us down an Alice in Wonderland like path ofGoogle searching, Wikipedia, blogosphere searching, and found thatthere is no real consensus in how to properly calculate EstimatedStandard Deviation and Confidence Interval. Knowing that it shouldbe a logic discussion, not a philosophical question we decided todo extensive research and found the logical solution was actuallyvery simple, but seemed murky due to all of the incorrectinformation out there on the interweb. At the end of this journeywe decided that there was a need for a simple lean/six sigma toolthat anyone could afford in order to break the economic andeducational chains restraining the tool that is Process capabilitystudies. Our goal is to provide this tool to anyone that can gainvalue from understanding their actual process capability and use itfor continuous improvement. This app automatically calculates standard deviation in 1 of 3ways depending on data set characteristics:1. If data is in one large group we use the regular sample standarddeviation calculation (n-1). If you collect your data in sub groupsthere are (2) preferred methods of estimating standard deviationusing unbiasing constants:2. Rbar /D23.Sbar /C4This App. Allows you to measure your process capability index, orhow good your process is compared to your internal, or customerrequirements (specifications).Six Sigma is a methodology for collecting and analyzing data inorder to develop a continuous improvement strategy in manufacturingand many other industries. The Cpk Calculator app allows you tofully utilize the Six Sigma principals in the field, and gives theLean Manufacturing approach that is to do the work on the shopfloor (Gemba) in real time.Process capability studies are essential in any comprehensivelean, DMAIC, PDCA, continuous improvement strategy. The results page and histogram in this app is fully exportableand unique. At the top of the page it calculates Mean, StandardDeviation and Estimated Standard Deviation. Below that, theHistogram displays the relative frequency of where your data fallsin relation to your specification limits. Below the Histogram is asummary of your capability data and process performance: Pp, Ppk,Cp, Cpk, Confidence Interval and Defects per million observations(DPMO).The Cpk Calculator App is a onetime purchase and is aninexpensive, user friendly alternative to the subscription basedsoftware such as Minitab™ for capability studies. Minitab ™ is agreat tool for statistical process control (SPC), but in many casessoftware such as Minitab™ are too expensive to purchase and requireextensive training to become proficient. For example, Minitabrequires you to select which method to use when calculatingestimated standard deviation (Rbar/D2 vs. Sbar/C4). This appevaluates the characteristic of you data and sub grouping and autoselects the most appropriate method.A true six sigma manufacturing process has 3.4 DPMO. Confidenceinterval is based on your sample size, so more data = narrowerconfidence interval. Histogram..
Julian Date Calc 1.0
This App allows you to quickly, simultaneously, and easily convert back and forth between GregorianDate and JulianDate.Gregorian date is a common display of date format. Julian dateisthe numerical count in which this date falls on a givenyear.Julian Day Calc defaults to today’s date when opened and allowsyouto select any Julian Date between 1 & 366 and the appwillconvert to the corresponding Gregorian date and viceversa. For example:If you wanted to find out the Julian date of June 21, 2013 youwouldscroll the date selector to June 21, 2013 and the Julian datewheelwill automatically scroll to 172.If you scroll the Julian Date bar to 90 the Date barwillautomatically scroll to March 31.This App is used by Quality Assurance &ManufacturingProfessionals as well as savvy consumers to determineproductiondates and corresponding expiration dates.Calculations are accurate for any date between years 1 and10,000A.D. and adjusts for leap years!
